FAQ's


Are the Products Safe?

Please be reassured that all our toys comply with EC Toy Safety regulations and, where appropriate, carry the CE mark. Some items contain small parts and are therefore not recommended for children under three (as indicated). Wherever possible we give age recommendations but please use them as a guide, not in place of your own judgement. Do e-mail or phone us if you have any questions or concerns. All our wooden toys have non-toxic paints or stains, are lead free, and have passed all required child safety tests.

Are the products really handmade?

Yes all our products are hand made and imported from Germany and all items have been personally selected by our sales team.

What is the Age recommendation?

Ages are used as a recommended or suggested guideline only.  For instance, some items are not recommended for under 3s as they contain small parts, but many others would be very suitable for a bright 2 year old.

What Guarantee's does Gifts and Traditional Gifts Give me?

We guarantee that if you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, we will exchange it or give you a full refund with no questions asked, provided you return it to us within 28 days*. Please tell us your reasons for returning the items as we value your comments. We check all goods before they leave our premises but, should there be any discrepancies or damage in transit, please telephone us immediately at our offices.

Are all products in stock?

As all of our products are hand made in Germany sometimes an item will not be available instantly and will have a delivery time of 7-10 days. If this is the case we will notify you after purchase.

What happens if i require a refund or wish to return a product?

If you change your mind after completing your order, simply e-mail us explaining that you don't want to proceed. In any case we guarantee to give you a full refund if you return your purchase to us within 28 days. We regret postage and packing costs are direct costs that we incur, and cannot be refunded other than in accordance with the Distance Selling Regulations.

If your original order qualified for free Postage & Packing but the subsequent return of an item or items reduces the total order value to under £75 then our standard £4.99 charge will be deducted from the refund.

Please obtain proof of postage if returning an item

What are the Delivery Charges for an order?

We endevour to despatch all orders as quickly as possible, usually within 2 working days of receipt.   However if your order is needed for an imminent birthday or christening,  please tell us the date required in the comments section of the shopping basket, email or phone us and we will do everything possible to ensure we meet your deadline.

We will despatch your order using either a Royal Mail or Parcel Force delivery service.  Once your order leaves us we use a 48 hour delivery service in the UK (a little slower to the Highlands of Scotland), a Royal Mail Tracked service or Royal Mail First Class post. PLEASE NOTE - Larger orders (those not sent by Royal Mail ) will require a signature. 

If you are likely to be out when your order is due to be delivered, we suggest you give an alternative delivery address, such as a work address, or use the comments section of the order to add a neighbour as a back up.  Please do NOT ask for orders to be left in the open, by the dustbin or worse still in the dustbin.  We have known orders to be delivered on bin day and never seen again! 

What if i do not receive my items?

If in the unfortunate circumstances that you item does not arrive, please contact the courier or postal service used, we are able to give you proof of purchase for all items and the relevant claim will need to be made with the third party postal service. We accept no responsibility for the service that Royal Mail or any other delivery service used provides.

Do you ship Overseas?

Yes we do ship overseas and all orders to overseas countries are despatched just as quickly and arrive as fast as their national delivery services allow.

Do you offer Gift Wrapping?

We will be happy to gift wrap your order, where feasible, for an additional £3.00 per item.  (Please note some items are too large to wrap, but these are generally noted in their descriptions.  Gift wrapping will be with a good quality paper).  If you would like us to include a message with your gift, please give the wording in the comments section on the order form.
